Someday...

I created this card for the challenge this week at http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com/ . We are to create a card using a favorite color combo. I chose the colors blue and brown because I like them when putting together a guy card. But, they have to be deep tones of blue and brown, none of these pastel baby blue or light brown girly colors. Oh no, they have to be strong deep colors. I combined my challenge theme from "Cardz4Guyz" with this week's very nice sketch by Challenge Hostess Kathie at http://sweetsketchwednesday2.blogspot.com/ .
*Papers -  Are 12X12" cardstock sheets from Michael's
*Embossing - Blue panel is a folder called "Tide #2" by Lifestyle Crafts. The brown panel under the blue is a folder by Cuttlebug called "Hounds Tooth".
*Sentiment - Is from a collection of sentiments I have saved. Text is written using my Explore and a blue Cricut pen. Happy Father's text also done on Explore and popped with pop dots for 3-D effect.
*Crown - Is an Explore cartridge image cut out of gold foil cardstock, which I double-layered for thickness. Added three metal gold gem Brads to finish of the sketch.

Ah...Spring and Butterflies

So many challenges have Butterfly inspired themes this week. Here is one I created using this week's Mojo Monday sketch and Cuttlebug Mania's "Wings" tag challenge.

Papers - I used all solid color blue and yellow single sheet cardstock.
Blue Embossing - Cuttlebug "Cane Back Chair" folder.
Tag - Is an unpainted thick chipboard laser cut design tag I bought at Michael's. I used Crayola brand metallic markers in blue for the flowers, copper color on the stems, green for the leaves, and silver and gold on the Butterflies. I then used a Gelly Roll "Clear Star" glitter pen to go over the Butterflies and the flower centers.  Added a narrow satin ribbon to the top of the tag.
Photo Corners - Cut out of Kraft paper using a die cut from the "Corners" set  from "My Little Paper World".
Sentiment - Circles were cut on the Explore, and the writing was also done using the Explore text feature. I hand cut the bars under the circle.

Fluttering Butterflies

Spring has sprung and so have the Butterflies! Happy with the way this card came out using a simple sketch and an assortment of embossing folders. I started with a very, very light lavender color card base and used very deep purple color cardstock for contrast. All cardstock is from my Scrap Box.
Light purple cardstock - Embossed with a Cuttlebug "Chicken Wire" folder.
White Panel - Embossed with a Darice "Butterflies" folder.
Butterflies - Are both Martha Stewart punches, embossed with a "Swiss Dots" Cuttlebug folder. Added purple gems to their heads and colored the small Butterflies with a "Purple Steel" Crayola marker, that gives the small Butterflies a metallic look. I triple-layered all the Butterflies to make them thicker.
Corner punches - Used a Recollections punch on the large panel and a Fisker punch on the white panel.
Used a flower lace strip under the panel.

I Love You, Dad!

At  http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.com/ this week our challenge is to create a masculine card. I combined it with a very nice sketch from http://sweetsketchwednesday2.blogspot.com/
I started with an anchor theme and this is what I created:
Pattern Paper - Single sheet from Michael's.
Strips - Under the panel are ribbon from my stash
Sentiment -  I typed on my computer and the anchor is a download. All matted on cardstock from my Scrap Box.
Small Anchors - Are metal embellishments I secured with small Brads.
I attached a small piece of chain to the anchor with a large Brad.

Follow Your Heart

This week at http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/ they have a very nice CAS challenge for us by Jen Mitchell. I started to make it a guy card, since they don't usually require a lot of embellishments. But, as soon as I added the ribbon, to me it morphed into a gal card...so, here it is...His or Hers???! I decided to flip the sketch for my card.
Sentiment - I found this sentiment in a crafting book. I liked it, it says it all. I typed and wrote the sentiment on  my Cricut Explore using a Calligraphy font.
I also cut out the circle on Explore on the red card base and added an embossed white square on the back of it. Added a 3-D heart-shaped gem to the circle and to the bottom right corner. Attached a narrow ribbon loop.

Our Mother

A late Mother's Day card!
Paper Pattern - A new DCWV stack I recently bought called "Pocket Blossom", has very pretty floral designs in it.
Torquoise Panel -  Is plain regular cardstock I embossed with a Darice "Flowers and Leaves" folder.
Two Smaller Squares -  Are from the DCWV "Taj Mahal" stack. The cardstock has a shiny finish to it. I was afraid the stamp ink would smudge, but thankfully it didn't.😄
Stamps - "Mother" and "Home is where your Mother is" are CTMH acrylic stamps from the "Mother's Day Occasion" set.
Ovals - Spellbinders. Image embossed with "Swiss Dots" folder. Scalloped oval is cut on my Cricut Explore machine.
Finished the card with Melon color Skittles (don't know why they appeared so dark, and added some narrow ribbon.

Welcome Home Sailor

Although, my grandson will not be home anytime soon, I made this Welcome Home card for him. This card will let him know how happy the family is to finally have him home after ten years of service to our country.
* Star and Anchor Pattern Papers - Single sheet rack at Michael's.
* Embossing - Two large panels are embossed with a Darice "Stars" folder on a Cuttlebug.
* Sentiment - Written on my Explore using a Cricut writing pen in "Blue".
I matted the panels with either blue or red cardstock. I used 1/8" Pop-Up Foam Squares by 3M
Scotch, on the sentiment back, for depth.

Thanks a Ton!

Oh, these GUY cards!!
I find them so hard to do because I'm a "Bling, Bling & More Bling" type of gal. It's hard for me to stay away from adding too many embellishments to my cards....I know, "Less is More", right?! So, here is a "Thank You" card for a guy and other than the little bit of bling on this cute elephant, I was able to contain myself!! LOL!
* Pattern Paper - 12x12" single sheet by Paper Pizazz.
* Fern Pattern - Sorry , no name.
 * Circle - Cut with Spellbinder, attach to chipboard and embossed with a "Trees" Cuttlebug  folder. Circle is popped with 3D tape for depth.
* Elephant - Is a Cricut image, cut on my Explore. I used a silver Gelly Roll pen on the tusk, feet, and tail.
* Leaf - Also a Cricut cut, and 3-D popped.
* Sentiment - Written and cut on Explore and popped with 3-D tape.

Summertime = Ice Cream!

Who does not enjoy cool, refreshing ice cream?!! It is my very favorite dessert...anytime! I wanted to stick with "sherbet" summertime  cool colors. We start with Raspberry, continue on to mint, and finish off with banana...Yum! Yum!
Base Card - Recollections assorted colors card pack.
Pattern Paper - By MME 6X6" "Market" cardstock pack.
Corners - I used a hand squeeze corner punch, sorry no name on it...must be pretty old!
Ice Cream Scoops/Cone - Is a pattern I downloaded from the internet, and fussy cut.
Embossing - I used four different embossing folders on the ice cream cone:
Cone - Lifestyle Crafts  "Tide #1"
                      Raspberry - Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots"
                      Mint - Cuttlebug "Devine Swirls"
                      Banana - Darice "Hearts"
Sentiment - I typed using the "Chubby Muffins" font on my computer.
I'm not very big on coloring, so I just used regular American Crafts markers on the ice cream scoops.

Purple/White Birthday Wishes

It's dark and cloudy in Tucson, not able to take a very good picture tonight. This card is made from this week's sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. All my papers are from my Scrap Box except for the pattern paper, it is from Michael's single sheet rack called "White Glitter". The purple panel and circles are cut with Spellbinders. They are all embossed with Cuttlebug folders, "Swiss Dots" and "Birds & Leaves". I added a tiny purple button to the small circle, and used Pearls for the corners. The strip is a piece of lace and the leaves are from a Sizzix "Leaves/Branches" metal die. I sprayed the leaves with iridescent Pearl Mist. The sentiment is from Hero Arts "Ploy Clear" acrylic stamps.
